Abbie is an international fitness expert and educator that has written the SCW Ballet Barre Certification and updated the SCW Pilates Matwork Certification. She is a Rykä Ambassador, a Group Fitness Manager for Equinox Fitness Clubs in Miami Beach and a Master Trainer and Consultant for Activmotion Bar™, Body Bar®, Schwinn® and SPRI® products. As an honored SCW faculty member, she has designed fitness programs and contributed to certifications, videos, magazines and journals and possesses multiple certifications and awards.

 

Abrea Arnold

Abrea has over 15 years of teaching experience in the Fitness industry. Certified through ACE and AFAA, she has served as a Personal Trainer, Metabolic Technician, Group Fitness Manager, and Fitness Presenter / Educator. Her passion lies in coaching and developing new and seasoned Instructors, Endurance multi-sports and training, and creating a love of fitness in her participants through her edgy, yet authentic, style and sense of humor.

 

Jordan Ballard

Jordan Ballard is the Director of Piloxing and Piloxing Barre as well as the Senior US Master Trainer for both programs and a certified private Pilates instructor. After 20 years of performing on Broadway and with leading artists, Jordan discovered Piloxing and a new passion was born. She is an International Presenter and Educator for the program, and has certified over 1,000 instructors across the world.

 

Constance Contursi Barker

Constance Contursi Barker(ACE/AFAA) and Kevin Barker, aka DJ KJ® (CSCS, B.S.) are National Presenters for the Hit It!® Kickbox and P.O.W.E.R. brand. Their extensive cardio kickbox and high intensity interval style P.O.W.E.R. trainings leave instructors motivated, educated and inspired to teach at a level unseen by many group fitness participants. Both Constance and Kevin are strong leaders and role models in the fitness industry with a talent for public-speaking and presenting. They are known for their Live Hit It!® Kickbox performances in the Chicago Nightclub scene fusing fitness and nightlife all into one event. In addition, they own and operate their successful fitness boutique, the Hit It! ® Fitness Studio in Roselle Illinois, have three in-home workout dvds and just recently launched their Hit It!® FIT line of fitness clothing!

 

Julie Bellis

Julie Bellis works for Equinox in Chicago as a Group Fitness Instructor. She started her career as a group fitness instructor when she received her first ACE certification. After graduating Texas A&M with her B.S. in Kinesiology, she completed her Physical Therapist Assistant license while teaching Tae Bo part time for Billy Blanks. In 2003, she became a certified personal trainer by NASM and throughout her career has recruited, trained and managed personal training staffs and group fitness instructors. She thrives as a PTA, ActivMotion Bar Master Instructor and Group Fitness Instructor and has various other certifications including TRX, Schwinn Indoor Cycling, Kettlebell Concepts and recently added Animal Flow Level 2 Master Instructor.

 

Marcie Benavides

Marcie Benavides is a Zumba Education Specialist for Zumba Fitness. She holds a degree in Exercise Physiology, is group exercise certified through AFAA, and is certified through ACE for Personal Training. Marcie has worked in the Fitness Industry for over 20 years teaching such formats as step, high-low impact aerobics, kickboxing, spinning and weight training. However, her passion is to teach her Zumba Fitness classes! Marcie travels worldwide leading Instructor Trainings for Zumba Fitness. She has two children and enjoys being home in Miami.

 

Pam Benchley

Pam has been teaching and training in the fitness world for over 20 years. She specializes in Indoor Cycling, Kickboxing, Cardio and Resistance Training, Step Aerobics and Aquatics. Her Personal Training business focuses on functional training for multi-sport athletes and individuals. Pam is a National Master Trainer for BOSU, a Certification Specialist for AFAA, and a provider for many CEC workshops including Indoor Cycling, BOSU, Kickboxing, Functional/Resistance Training and Aquatics, and a member of the elevateEDUCATION PRO Trainer Team. She currently serves on the faculty at the State University of New York College at Fredonia in the department of Exercise Science and Sports Management. She is also a member of numerous organizations within the fitness industry such as IHRSA, IDEA and ACSM. Pam is an avid cyclist, competitive half-iron and International distance triathlete, and and just completed her first Iron Man October 11, 2015!

 

Nick Bez

Nick Bez is a National Master Instructor and Signature Format Lead for Life Time Fitness as well as a Regional Support Lead and national presenter for LifePower Yoga. He fuses life lessons learned in the process of recovering from a decade of drug addiction with nearly 1,000 hours of training through CorePower Yoga, At One Yoga and the Michigan based Center for Yoga and always finds a way to bring light and laughter into the most challenging of practices. His vision is to expand student's understanding of their edge and potential, something he strives for personally as a marathoner, World's Toughest Mudder participant and father of three.

 

Anthony Chavez

Anthony would rather talk about you and your dreams and goals than his own, but this is where we get to share a little bit of his story with you. He has consistently found himself in the role of trainer, coach, and most recently as a professional Speaker with Freedom Personal Development. It was with his time at Freedom that Anthony was introduced to Yoga and the transformative and life changing power of the practice of Yoga. He believes Yoga to be the physical embodiment of personal and spiritual growth. His intention while teaching Yoga is crystal clear: To help everyone to live a life of purpose and fulfillment while allowing their own sweet divine light to shine bright. Anthony’s first love was baseball as he played through high school & college and even now to this day. As a baseball coach, he has helped propel his players onto the collegiate and professional levels of the game. He is also a registered EYRT 200 with Yoga alliance.

 

Cameron Chinatti

Cameron is the Director of Education of Stages® Indoor Cycling. Concurrently, she serves as CEO of Sounds Fit Solutions Inc; a company dedicated to fitness and audio systems education. As an international presenter/lecturer, Cameron has had the opportunity to educate on topics ranging from indoor cycling to fitness career development. Her recent publishing credits include numerous titles for Stages Indoor Cycling, Wexer.com and multiple contributions to the IDEA Fitness Journal and IDEA Fitness Manager. She is a continuing education provider for ACE and AFAA holding specialty certifications through numerous organizations.

 

Gregg Cook

Gregg is a 15-plus-year fitness professional who is heralded as one of the best in the industry. He has appeared on The Today Show, Good Morning America, Fox 5 Morning News, The WB, as well as in several publications such as “O”, New York Magazine, Shape, Fitness Magazine, and more. Gregg co-authored 2 books on fitness, engineered a number of workout videos, and developed results-driven programs for some of the most successful fitness organizations in the country. He is an exercise strategist, a coach, a nutrition enthusiast, and an athlete. Gregg’s programs guarantee better health, and with that, a stronger, leaner, high-performance body. ! Gregg currently works for Equinox in NYC as Master Trainer of Cycling and as a group fitness instructor. Kathryn Coyle

Kathryn Coyle is a Peak Pilates Level® III Senior Master Instructor and MVe® Instructor Trainer, Kathryn has over 15 years of Pilates teaching experience and uses the Pilates system for prehab, rehab and performance enhancement. She has presented internationally and been featured in Pilates Style magazine and DVDs. Kathryn began her career as a personal trainer, and indoor cycling instructor before Pilates quickly claimed her focus in 2000. In addition to her Pilates certifications through Pilates Systems and Peak Pilates, she is a certified holistic health coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and a Jivamukti Certified Yoga Instructor. Kathryn co-owned InnerSpace Hartford Connecticut’s largest Pilates studio from 2006-2013; currently, Kathryn is the Pilates Studio Coordinator for one of Life Time Athletic’s busiest Pilates studio in Reston, Virginia.

 

Josh Crosby

Josh Crosby is a former professional ultra-endurance athlete, Ironman World Champion competitor and World Champion rower. Today, he uses his elite athletic pedigree to coach and inspire others as an international fitness presenter, program/product consultant, race director and co-creator of fitness programs Indo-Row and ShockWave. Andrea Du Cane is Director of Certifications for Dragon Door Publications, a Master Kettlebell Instructor, CK-FMS certified, CICS certified, Primal Move National Instructor and RIST, ZHealth certified, and has a BA in Psychology from the University of Minnesota. She has written and produced two DVDs The Kettlebell Goddess Workout, a top selling Kettlebell DVD on Amazon.com and her most recent The Kettlebell Boomer. Her DVD, Working With Special Populations, was filmed at the RKC Level II. Her Ageless Body Book was released fall of 2011. She is featured in the From Russia With Tough Love video and book, and was one of the athletes featured in the TRX-Kettlebell Power DVD. Kaycee Dunfield

Kaycee is currently the National Brand Manager and Master Instructor Trainer for Life Time Fitness, the Healthy Way of Life Company, and is celebrating 25 years in the fitness industry. Her journey includes being a fitness instructor, Yoga/Pilates Instructor/trainer, Education Specialist, Program Director, Format Creator and National Fitness Presenter. Kaycee has been seen in many fitness videos and online video's and loves traveling the globe to share her passion. She has many fitness industry certifications including ACE, AFAA, NASM, Schwinn, 200 hr YTT, Stott Pilates and quite a variety of industry specialty certifications. Nnanna Egbujiobi

Nnanna Egbujiobi focuses on helping people transform themselves through life-altering experiences that enrich their daily lives. Previously, Nnanna worked at Nike where he focused on brand development and acquired an MBA degree, experiences which would help shape and prepare him for the company and movement that has become NEW VYBE®. As a performer, Nnanna has opened for big music acts such as 50cent and B2K. He incorporated his love of performance into the STREET VYBE™ fitness format, in which the entertainment is as important as the exercise. Shannon Fable

Shannon Fable, 2013 IDEA and 2006 ACE Instructor of the Year, is the Director Exercise Programming for the Anytime Fitness Franchise. Shannon is a 19 year fitness veteran, freelance writer, as well as an international presenter for Schwinn® and BOSU®. She is a member of the ACE Board of Directors, has helped author portions of the ACE and ACSM Group Fitness manuals, and has starred in over 25 fitness videos. Shannon is a certified Book Yourself Solid® Business Coach interested in helping fitness professionals navigate the industry and find their place. Additionally, she owns both Balletone® and GroupEx Pro®.

 

Bridget Frederick

Bridget has been a Beachbody Live international presenter since 2005 and is one of our Head Master Trainers. Her formats include Insanity, Turbo Kick, PiYo, CIZE and All Star Presenter Camp in WA state and surrounding areas. She has presented at SCW San Francisco, Beachbody Summit, CanFit Pro and has been featured in PiYo, Turbo Kick and Hip Hop Hustle Instructor Videos. Bridget was selected as 2010 Presenter of the Year and is Beachbody Live Hall of Famer. Her Passions are Fitness, Wakeboarding and Dance but Family always comes first.

 

Lauren George

Lauren George, M.S. is the founder and creator of PulsePointe barre as well as an avid Pilates, yoga, and group fitness instructor. PulsePointe barre is an innovative and challenging barre experience that seamlessly weaves together traditional muscle-sculpting barre choreography with exhilarating cardio segments to define and challenge the body in a whole new way. Additionally, Lauren has served as the group fitness director for the Baylor Tom Landry Fitness Center, Florida State University Campus Recreation Center, and ToddPilates Fitness. Clay Grant is an International Fitness Professional with over 25 years of experience in the health and fitness industry. Clay is a Silver and Bronze Medalist in the US National Aerobic Championship National Finals. He has presented workshops, masterclasses, seminars and convention sessions in over 20 countries in Europe, South America, Central America, Asia, Australia and the Middle East. Helen Vanderburg, BPE, is owner of Heavens Elevated Fitness Club and Fusion Fitness Training™. With over 30 year of experience in club management, program development and motivational speaking she brings a wealth of experience to her presentations worldwide. She is the recipient of many industry awards, including the 2013 CanFitPro Presenter of the Year, 2005 IDEA Instructor of the Year, and an elite athlete as a former World Champion synchronized swimmer and honored member of the Sports Hall of Fame. Manuel Velazquez

Manuel Velazquez is a WaterInMotion®, National Trainer and SCW Fitness Education Faculty Presenter. He is the recipient of the “2011 ECA-NYC OBOW All-Around International Presenter of the Year” award, and has been presenting at fitness conferences worldwide for over two decades. Forming part of the continuing education faculty of ACE, AFAA, ACSM, SCW-EDU, AEA, FG2000, and WaterInMotion®, Manuel is also an AFAA Examiner, has many land and aqua based fitness dvds, and stars in the AFAA online bilingual “Sunrise Yoga,” “Yo-Chi”® and “Cream Rises” programs.

 

Dr. Bryan Walsh

Dr. Bryan Walsh has been studying human physiology and nutrition for over 25 years and has been educating others in health for 20 of those years. When he isn’t teaching, he spends his time pouring over the latest research and synthesizing his findings into practical information for others to use with their clients. He has lectured to members of the health care industry around the world and consistently receives positive feedback in his seminars. His articles have been featured in popular websites such as T-Nation and Precision Nutrition, and he has been a consultant to multiple companies, academic institutions, and wellness organizations.

 

Joie Walsh

A certified group fitness instructor from Boston, MA with many years experience teaching group fitness classes as well as managing health clubs and studios. Joie is also an award winning Master Trainer and Presenter for Beachbody including Beachbody Master Trainer Of The Year 2013. She has certified hundreds of instructors in the New England and New York areas for Turbo Kick LIVE, PiYo LIVE, INSANITY LIVE and CIZE LIVE. Through these regional weekend events, we, alongside the community and a team of world-renowned fitness presenters, celebrate fitness, continuing education, motivation and the desire for an overall healthy way of life for all.

The events are produced by Global Fitness Solutions, LLC and hosted in partnership with Life Time Fitness, the premier Healthy Way of Life company, in the United States.

Whether you are a fitness professional in need of your CECs or an enthusiast who simply wants to exercise with the best fitness presenters in the world, EMPOWER! is exactly where you need to be!

Q: Who should attend?

A: Anyone who has an interest in fitness and a healthy way of life!

Q: Why is Thursday considered a "special event" day?

A: Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23 are considered Pre-Conference event days.  When you register for the EMPOWER! conference weekend, Thursday and the morning/day is not included in the weekend event package (Fri-Sun).  If you are interested in participating in an intensive or certification on Thursday or Friday, you will need to seperately register for each individual class.

Q: How does course selection work?

A: For EMPOWER! upon registration you will be able to select your sessions. We limit the number of registrations to ensure as many attendees as possible receive all their first choice selections at the event and can easily make changes throughout the weekend at will.

Q: When can I check in?

A: You can check in at the event registration desk starting each day at the following times:

Q: What will I receive at check in?


A: You will receive your check-in packet containing a schedule, wristband or ticket, and a goody bag.



Q: What should I bring?


A: Bring a photo i.d., your registration confirmation letter, exercise apparel, a water bottle, and money for lunch and shopping at the expo.



Q: How do I get a receipt?


A:  If you register online, you can print a copy of your receipt at the time of registration. If you mail or fax your registration, you can pick up a copy of your receipt at the event.

 

CECs

Q: What are CECs?


A: CEC stands for Continuing Education Credit (also referred to as CEU or Continuing Education Unit). You receive CECs by attending fitness-related educational workshops. Typically, certification organizations require that instructors earn a certain number of CECs to maintain and renew their certificates. Check with your certifying organization regarding specific requirements.



Q: How many CECs will I get for each class?


A: Each workshop equals .1/1.0 to .2/2.0 CECs from ACE, NASM, AFAA, AEA, AAAI/ISMA and NETA.



Q: How do I get my CECs for attending this event?


A: You can pick up your certificate at the event.
