Emily Booth

Emily Booth is the National Indoor Cycle Program Manager at Life Time Fitness where she is thrilled to fuse her passion for cycling, group fitness, music, and performance together by providing education, inspiration and support for Indoor Cycling instructors across the country. With a degree in Vocal Performance and Theater, her mission is to make exercise as entertaining as it is effective-putting the "fun" back in "function". As a self-described "Endurance Junkie", when she is not in the studio you can find her on the trails training and racing in ultra distance running events like the Life Time Leadville Trail 100.

 

Rob Glick

Rob is the Senior Director of Large Group Training, Yoga and Cycle programming, and innovation at Life Time. He was named the International Presenter of the Year by CanFit Pro and the Best Male Presenter by ECA. He holds a B.S. in exercise science from Chapman University, has his 200 HR YTT through a few different yoga programs and has had a hand in creating many of the top programs in the industry. He is co-creator of EMPOWER! Live Fitness events, 5 Star Instructor Development program and presents education regularly at many of the industry's top conferences.

 

Katie Haggerty

Katie Haggerty has become a popular member of the professional fitness industry through her unique brand and delivery. She is well known for her ability to create a balance of innovation, breakdown and functionality through a signature style of fun that creates an experience unlike any other. Katie is the Signature Program Manager and co-creator of Warrior Sculpt and LifeBarre, including developmental workshops, to grow the Life Time Fitness brand. She is a presenter at multiple national fitness conferences, specializing in yoga, dance, step and motivational speaking, and has been awarded the 2014 EMPOWER! Fitness Conference Female Presenter of the Year. Katie holds a BA in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota and is ACE certified.

 

Alex Isaly

Alex has over 20 years of experience as a creator/lead trainer for several national fitness programs, ACE and AFAA certified instructor, endurance athlete, author, international presenter, and nutritionist. His current projects include Life Time Signature Brand Lead for Kettlebell Kombine, Spartan Strong and WTRX. He is also the creator of KettleWorX® DVD workout series. Alex is a member of IDEA’s Advisory Board . He is the recipient of the 2018 EMPOWER Presenter of the Year award. Media appearances include NBC Sports Network, The TODAY Show, Discovery Channel, Hallmark, The Talk, Jimmy Kimmel Live, CNN, Men's Health, SHAPE, American Fitness, Sports Illustrated, Experience Life and OXYGEN Magazine.

 

Eric Jeffers

Eric began his yoga practice in 1998. He is formerly a professional dancer and member of Cirque du Soleil. He’s studied many styles of yoga, and completed teacher trainings with Suddha Weixler, Richard Freeman and Manju Jois. Two years ago Eric began learning Vipassana meditation in the Goenka tradition.

 

JR Reis

JR has been a fitness junkie ever since he was five or six years old, when his mom taught Jazzercise with big, poofy 90's hair and hot pink leg warmers. She was an inspiration to JR and he has been teaching indoor cycle classes for more than seven years. For him, it's the energy of the students, music, and members exceeding fitness goals that keeps him coming back for more. He prides himself in his authentic and positive vibes in his classes.

 

Joy Smith

Owner and director of Santa Cruz Dance Company dance and fitness studio. Internationally awarded instructor and choreographer for music videos, film, television and musical artists in France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Brazil, Japan and the US. International dance and fitness presenter, master trainer and Zumba Education Specialist (ZES) for Zumba Fitness LLC-Awarded "Best of Santa Cruz Aerobic Instructor of the year". ACE and AFAA faculty and CEC provider.

 

Kimball Theoret

Kimball Theoret is active in the fitness industry as a Master Educator with Stages Indoor Cycling, a performance coach with Equinox, gym design consultant, and fitness model and has numerous product endorsement agreements. She holds a B.A. in Communication and multiple certifications in group exercise instruction and cycling and develops innovative fitness programs for companies and triathletes around the country. Outside the gym, she's a road cyclist and distance runner and works in the TV and film industry as a producer. Kimball’s philosophy about fitness focuses on quality of life and optimizing human performance.

 

Geoff Tough

Geoffrey Tough is a Signature Program Master Trainer, 5 Star Elite Performer and Content Creator for LifeTime Fitness. Geoffrey holds his Bachelor's Degree in Music and Dance from the University of the Arts. After taking a step off of the Las Vegas stage, Geoffrey finds himself in the brightest lights of his career as he guides his passion toward educating and developing individuals and their communities. Cheryl Wu

Cheryl Wu-Hall is a Zumba® Fitness International Presenter and Educational Specialist for Zumba®, Zumba® Gold and Zumba® Step and Master Trainer for Strong by Zumba®. She has taught Zumba® programs for over 8 years and is an AFAA and ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor. She is a native of Taiwan and currently resides in Southern California.

Q: What is Empower?

A: EMPOWER! Fitness Events are designed especially for fitness professionals as well as fitness enthusiasts. Through these regional weekend events, we, alongside the community and a team of world-renowned fitness presenters, celebrate fitness, continuing education, motivation and the desire for an overall healthy way of life for all.

The events are produced by Global Fitness Solutions, LLC and hosted in partnership with Life Time Fitness, the premier Healthy Way of Life company, in the United States.

Whether you are a fitness professional in need of your CECs or an enthusiast who simply wants to exercise with the best fitness presenters in the world, EMPOWER! is exactly where you need to be!

Q: Who should attend?

A: Anyone who has an interest in fitness and a healthy way of life!

Q: Why is Thursday considered a "special event" day?

A: Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23 are considered Pre-Conference event days.  When you register for the EMPOWER! conference weekend, Thursday and the morning/day is not included in the weekend event package (Fri-Sun).  If you are interested in participating in an intensive or certification on Thursday or Friday, you will need to seperately register for each individual class.

Q: How does course selection work?

A: For EMPOWER! upon registration you will be able to select your sessions. We limit the number of registrations to ensure as many attendees as possible receive all their first choice selections at the event and can easily make changes throughout the weekend at will.

 

AT THE EVENT

Q: When can I check in?

A: You can check in at the event registration desk starting each day at the following times:

Q: What will I receive at check in?


A: You will receive your check-in packet containing a schedule, wristband or ticket, and a goody bag.



Q: What should I bring?


A: Bring a photo i.d., your registration confirmation letter, exercise apparel, a water bottle, and money for lunch and shopping at the expo.



Q: How do I get a receipt?


A:  If you register online, you can print a copy of your receipt at the time of registration. If you mail or fax your registration, you can pick up a copy of your receipt at the event.

 

CECs

Q: What are CECs?


A: CEC stands for Continuing Education Credit (also referred to as CEU or Continuing Education Unit). You receive CECs by attending fitness-related educational workshops. Typically, certification organizations require that instructors earn a certain number of CECs to maintain and renew their certificates. Check with your certifying organization regarding specific requirements.



Q: How many CECs will I get for each class?


A: Each workshop equals .1/1.0 to .2/2.0 CECs from ACE, NASM, AFAA, AEA, AAAI/ISMA and NETA.



Q: How do I get my CECs for attending this event?


A: You will get CEC's in an email the weekend of the event.  Please look for it coming from Global Fitness Solutions.  NOTE:   If you do not see it by the end of the day Sunday, please check in your junk mail.
