Emily Booth

Emily Booth is the National Indoor Cycle Program Manager at Life Time Fitness where she is thrilled to fuse her passion for cycling, group fitness, music, and performance together by providing education, inspiration and support for Indoor Cycling instructors across the country. With a degree in Vocal Performance and Theater, her mission is to make exercise as entertaining as it is effective-putting the "fun" back in "function". As a self-described "Endurance Junkie", when she is not in the studio you can find her on the trails training and racing in ultra distance running events like the Life Time Leadville Trail 100.


Kelly Bullard

Kelly is an International fitness educator and a Zumba® Education Specialist (ZES) since 2009. She holds degrees in Exercise and Sports Science (Health and Physical Education) and a Master’s degree in Sport Administration. Her passion, enthusiasm, and experience is for fitness and dance for people of all ages. Kelly specializes in many of the Zumba Fitness programs and has presented in over 36 countries. She is in several Zumba Fitness DVD’s, including being featured in the Aqua Zumba Volume 6 DVD. Kelly holds a variety of certifications in many areas of fitness, and is a continuing education provider for AEA, AAAI/ISMA, AFAA & ACE.


Katie Haggerty

Katie Haggerty has become a popular member of the professional fitness industry through her unique brand and delivery. She is well known for her ability to create a balance of innovation, breakdown and functionality through a signature style of fun that creates an experience unlike any other. Katie is the Signature Program Manager and co-creator of Warrior Sculpt and LifeBarre, including developmental workshops, to grow the Life Time Fitness brand. She is a presenter at multiple national fitness conferences, specializing in yoga, dance, step and motivational speaking, and has been awarded the 2014 EMPOWER! Fitness Conference Female Presenter of the Year. Katie holds a BA in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota and is ACE certified.


Katie Hake

Katie Hake is a Beachbody LIVE Master Trainer with a dual degree in dietetics and nutrition, fitness, and health. She travels the country training fitness instructors in Beachbody LIVE formats including Turbo Kick, PiYo, and CORE DE FORCE. Katie also works in an outpatient clinic to provide nutrition counseling for weight and disease management. She spreads her passion for wellness as a contributor to organizations such as Readers Digest and Men’s Health. 


Jenn Hogg

Jenn Hogg is a driving force in the Chicago Fitness Community - a 5-time US Champion in Aerobic Gymnastics, Master Trainer & Presenter, Platinum Lululemon Ambassador, Private Studio Owner and Group Fitness Education Manager for Lakeshore Sport & Fitness. She believes that fitness is attainable for everyone - each road traveled is personal and unique - so find what moves you, energizes you, inspires you and enjoy the adventure.


Alex Isaly

Alex has over 20 years of experience as a creator/lead trainer for several national fitness programs, endurance athlete, author, speaker, and nutritionist. His current projects include Life Time Signature Brand Lead for Kettlebell Kombine, Spartan Strong and WTRX. He is also the creator of KettleWorX® DVD workout series. Alex is a member of IDEA’s Advisory Board and VIP founding member for Men's Health Fitness Council. JR Reis

JR has been a fitness junkie ever since he was five or six years old, when his mom taught Jazzercise with big, poofy 90's hair and hot pink leg warmers. She was an inspiration to JR and he has been teaching indoor cycle classes for more than seven years. For him, it's the energy of the students, music, and members exceeding fitness goals that keeps him coming back for more. He prides himself in his authentic and positive vibes in his classes.


Alex Schimmel

Alex Schimmel is a 500 RYT, national master trainer, and yoga teacher trainer for Life Power Yoga. He was born into a yoga teaching family and from an early age was walking the yoga studio with his mom. Alex believes the practice of yoga is for everybody and is passionate about teaching teachers and students to peel back the layers and be their most authentic selves.

Q: Why is Thursday considered a "special event" day?

A: Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23 are considered Pre-Conference event days.  When you register for the EMPOWER! conference weekend, Thursday and the morning/day is not included in the weekend event package (Fri-Sun).  If you are interested in participating in an intensive or certification on Thursday or Friday, you will need to seperately register for each individual class.

Q: How does course selection work?

A: For EMPOWER! upon registration you will be able to select your sessions. We limit the number of registrations to ensure as many attendees as possible receive all their first choice selections at the event and can easily make changes throughout the weekend at will.



Q: When can I check in?

A: You can check in at the event registration desk starting each day at the following times:

Q: What will I receive at check in?

A: You will receive your check-in packet containing a schedule, wristband or ticket, and a goody bag.

Q: What should I bring?

A: Bring a photo i.d., your registration confirmation letter, exercise apparel, a water bottle, and money for lunch and shopping at the expo.

Q: How do I get a receipt?

A:  If you register online, you can print a copy of your receipt at the time of registration. If you mail or fax your registration, you can pick up a copy of your receipt at the event.



Q: What are CECs?

A: CEC stands for Continuing Education Credit (also referred to as CEU or Continuing Education Unit). You receive CECs by attending fitness-related educational workshops. Typically, certification organizations require that instructors earn a certain number of CECs to maintain and renew their certificates. Check with your certifying organization regarding specific requirements.

Q: How many CECs will I get for each class?

A: Each workshop equals .1/1.0 to .2/2.0 CECs from ACE, NASM, AFAA, AEA, AAAI/ISMA and NETA.

Q: How do I get my CECs for attending this event?
