Mandy Bear

Mandy helps seasoned and new instructors to pack classes with participants. Her goals and objectives for these instructors are to: help them take the function of the exercises they practice in class into actions that improve and encourage lifetime movement, help the Beachbody LIVE formats become a well known name, and to provide top notch workshops so that the instructors leave feeling successful. Mandy is a Master Trainer with Beachbody LIVE, a certified Group Fitness instructor and a Certified Personal Trainer.

 

Emily Booth

Emily Booth is the National Indoor Cycle Program Manager at Life Time Fitness where she is thrilled to fuse her passion for cycling, group fitness, music, and performance together by providing education, inspiration and support for Indoor Cycling instructors across the country. With a degree in Vocal Performance and Theater, her mission is to make exercise as entertaining as it is effective-putting the "fun" back in "function". As a self-described "Endurance Junkie", when she is not in the studio you can find her on the trails training and racing in ultra distance running events like the Life Time Leadville Trail 100.

 

Kelly Bullard

Kelly is an International fitness educator and a Zumba® Education Specialist (ZES) since 2009. She holds degrees in Exercise and Sports Science (Health and Physical Education) and a Master’s degree in Sport Administration. Her passion, enthusiasm, and experience is for fitness and dance for people of all ages. Kelly specializes in many of the Zumba Fitness programs and has presented in over 36 countries. She is in several Zumba Fitness DVD’s, including being featured in the Aqua Zumba Volume 6 DVD. Kelly holds a variety of certifications in many areas of fitness, and is a continuing education provider for AEA, AAAI/ISMA, AFAA & ACE.

Rob Glick

Rob is the senior director of programming innovation for group fitness, yoga and indoor cycle at Life Time. He started EMPOWER! with his wife Kimberly Glick in 2007. He was named the 2006 International Presenter of the Year by CanFit Pro and the 2005 Best Male Presenter by ECA. He holds a B.S. in exercise science and continues to bring cutting-edge education and programming to the fitness and wellness industry. He developed and co-created some of the industries top programs and been a master trainer with some of the most prestigious brands in the fitness industry. Katie is the Signature Program Manager and co-creator of Warrior Sculpt and LifeBarre, including developmental workshops, to grow the Life Time Fitness brand. She is a presenter at multiple national fitness conferences, specializing in yoga, dance, step and motivational speaking, and has been awarded the 2014 EMPOWER! Fitness Conference Female Presenter of the Year. Katie holds a BA in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota and is ACE certified.

 

Charmel Heltsley

Charmel Heltsley has been the Studio Manager at the Chanhassen Life Time for three years, and teaching with Life Time for nine years. Although there are many things she loves about her job, it is fair to say teaching classes is her favorites. Over the years she has taught a multitude of different formats including; Strength, Yoga, Cardio, Cycle, Dance, and more. Her favorite thing about putting together a class is finding the perfect music for each segment and admits sometimes it can take up to four hours to get the playlist just right. She is ACE certified and Life Power Yoga certified.

 

Jenn Hogg

Jenn Hogg is a driving force in the Chicago Fitness Community - a 5-time US Champion in Aerobic Gymnastics, Master Trainer & Presenter, Platinum Lululemon Ambassador, Private Studio Owner and Group Fitness Education Manager for Lakeshore Sport & Fitness. She believes that fitness is attainable for everyone - each road traveled is personal and unique - so find what moves you, energizes you, inspires you and enjoy the adventure.

 

Alex Isaly

Alex has over 20 years of experience as a creator/lead trainer for several national fitness programs, endurance athlete, author, speaker, and nutritionist. His current projects include Life Time Signature Brand Lead for Kettlebell Kombine, Spartan Strong and WTRX. He is also the creator of KettleWorX® DVD workout series. Alex is a member of IDEA’s Advisory Board and VIP founding member for Men's Health Fitness Council. Lindsay Lewis

Yoga is a journey towards happiness and Lindsay is delighted to share the practice with others. From the instant that she stepped barefoot into her first yoga class, Lindsay knew she was on the right path. Her classes at Life Time have evolved over the past ten years as the emphasis shifted from a physically based practice to one centered in breath and mindfulness. She has lead nine successful teacher trainings at SLP and continues to practice daily so she can grow.

 

Irene Lewis-McCormick

Irene Lewis-McCormick, M.S., is the Education Director for Octane Fitness, adjunct faculty at Drake University and a published author. She is also RYKA FitPro Ambassador, SCW Faculty and subject matter expert for NASM and ACE, and also a master trainer for Tabata Bootcamp™, Barre Above®, TRX, Octane Fitness and JumpSport Fitness. Irene currently works for Orange Theory Fitness as a coach, and is the featured Workout of the Week Trainer on NBC-WHO TV in Des Moines, Iowa.

JR Reis

JR has been a fitness junkie ever since he was five or six years old, when his mom taught Jazzercise with big, poofy 90's hair and hot pink leg warmers. She was an inspiration to JR and he has been teaching indoor cycle classes for more than seven years. Q: Why is Thursday considered a "special event" day?

A: Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23 are considered Pre-Conference event days.  When you register for the EMPOWER! conference weekend, Thursday and the morning/day is not included in the weekend event package (Fri-Sun).  If you are interested in participating in an intensive or certification on Thursday or Friday, you will need to seperately register for each individual class.

Q: How does course selection work?

A: For EMPOWER! upon registration you will be able to select your sessions. We limit the number of registrations to ensure as many attendees as possible receive all their first choice selections at the event and can easily make changes throughout the weekend at will.

Q: When can I check in?

A: You can check in at the event registration desk starting each day at the following times:

A: You will receive your check-in packet containing a schedule, wristband or ticket, and a goody bag.



Q: What should I bring?


A: Bring a photo i.d., your registration confirmation letter, exercise apparel, a water bottle, and money for lunch and shopping at the expo.



Q: How do I get a receipt?


A:  If you register online, you can print a copy of your receipt at the time of registration. If you mail or fax your registration, you can pick up a copy of your receipt at the event.

 

CECs

Q: What are CECs?


A: CEC stands for Continuing Education Credit (also referred to as CEU or Continuing Education Unit). You receive CECs by attending fitness-related educational workshops. Typically, certification organizations require that instructors earn a certain number of CECs to maintain and renew their certificates. Check with your certifying organization regarding specific requirements.



Q: How many CECs will I get for each class?


A: Each workshop equals .1/1.0 to .2/2.0 CECs from ACE, NASM, AFAA, AEA, AAAI/ISMA and NETA.



Q: How do I get my CECs for attending this event?


A: You will get CEC's in an email the weekend of the event.  Please look for it coming from Global Fitness Solutions.  NOTE:   If you do not see it by the end of the day Sunday, please check in your junk mail.
