Lois fell in love with yoga the very first class she took in 1998 and so my journey began. It has helped her to grow stronger, both in body and mind, and inspires her to live each day more mindfully. She is currently the Yoga Coordinator for Life Time Fitness in Cary, North Carolina, a regional training lead, and a member of our National Yoga Teacher Training Faculty. As so many yoga teachers, Lois just wants to share the gift of yoga with others. She wants to inspire her students to have experiences that change their lives. Lauren George

Lauren George is the co-creator of the enhanced Barre Above® program, a Balletone® Master Trainer, serves as adjunct faculty for Clemson University, and is the owner of Clemson Fitness Company. She holds a BS and MS in Sports Management and certifications through Balanced Body Pilates, ACE, AFAA, and YogaFit.


Katie Haggerty

Katie Haggerty has become a popular member of the professional fitness industry through her unique brand and delivery. She is well known for her ability to create a balance of innovation, breakdown and functionality through a signature style of fun that creates an experience unlike any other. Katie is the Signature Program Manager and co-creator of Warrior Sculpt and LifeBarre, including developmental workshops, to grow the Life Time Fitness brand. She is a presenter at multiple national fitness conferences, specializing in yoga, dance, step and motivational speaking, and has been awarded the 2014 EMPOWER! Alex Isaly

Alex has over 20 years of experience as a creator/lead trainer for several national fitness programs, endurance athlete, author, speaker, and nutritionist. His current projects include Life Time Signature Brand Lead for Kettlebell Kombine, Spartan Strong and WTRX. He is also the creator of KettleWorX® DVD workout series. Alex is a member of IDEA’s Advisory Board and VIP founding member for Men's Health Fitness Council. Stephanie Johnson

Beachbody Master Trainer Stephanie Johnson has received several of Beachbody's top honors: "Rookie of the Year 2013" and “Master Trainer of the Quarter”. She holds certifications in ACE, AFAA, TRX, Schwinn, YMCA, Reebok, and Precision Nutrition. She teaches a variety of group exercise classes and is certified personal trainer.


Becky Langton

Becky is the founder of Intrinsic Motion Inc. (www.intrinsic-motion.com) has spent her entire career in the health and fitness industry. She studied Health Promotion and Wellness at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, and completed a Masters program in Exercise Physiology and Pedagogy at the Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI. Becky has worked with Schwinn Education and BOSU as a national master trainer for more than 15 years and currently resides in Wake Forest North Carolina with her husband and two children where she teaches full time as an Associate Professor in the Health and Fitness Science division of Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh NC.


Renee Pickett

JR Reis

JR has been a fitness junkie ever since he was five or six years old, when his mom taught Jazzercise with big, poofy 90's hair and hot pink leg warmers. Abrea has over 15 years of teaching experience in the Fitness industry. Q: Why is Thursday considered a "special event" day?

A: Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23 are considered Pre-Conference event days.  When you register for the EMPOWER! conference weekend, Thursday and the morning/day is not included in the weekend event package (Fri-Sun).  If you are interested in participating in an intensive or certification on Thursday or Friday, you will need to seperately register for each individual class.

Q: How does course selection work?

A: For EMPOWER! upon registration you will be able to select your sessions. We limit the number of registrations to ensure as many attendees as possible receive all their first choice selections at the event and can easily make changes throughout the weekend at will.



Q: When can I check in?

A: You can check in at the event registration desk starting each day at the following times:

Q: What will I receive at check in?

A: You will receive your check-in packet containing a schedule, wristband or ticket, and a goody bag.

Q: What should I bring?

A: Bring a photo i.d., your registration confirmation letter, exercise apparel, a water bottle, and money for lunch and shopping at the expo.

Q: How do I get a receipt?

A:  If you register online, you can print a copy of your receipt at the time of registration. If you mail or fax your registration, you can pick up a copy of your receipt at the event.



Q: What are CECs?

A: CEC stands for Continuing Education Credit (also referred to as CEU or Continuing Education Unit). You receive CECs by attending fitness-related educational workshops. Typically, certification organizations require that instructors earn a certain number of CECs to maintain and renew their certificates. Check with your certifying organization regarding specific requirements.

Q: How many CECs will I get for each class?

A: Each workshop equals .1/1.0 to .2/2.0 CECs from ACE, NASM, AFAA, AEA, AAAI/ISMA and NETA.

Q: How do I get my CECs for attending this event?
