Presenters

Jenn Bodnar

An avid fitness professional, certified by AFAA and ACE, Jenn has taught and managed group fitness for many years. As a former competitive triathlete, gymnast and dancer she loves the balance of strength, flexibility, perseverance and freedom that any fitness practice provides. Jenn is a self proclaimed health food chef who hopes to leave a positive footprint by inspiring others to always choose happiness. Jenn is also the editor of YOGA Digest and is a 200ERYT. Her wide ranging fitness background was a great match for leading the Empower BOGAFIT certification.

 

Anthony Chavez

Anthony has been professionally speaking and teaching yoga since 2009. He has led numerous yoga teacher trainings and personal development retreats. Currently, Anthony is the National Director of Yoga Programming for LifePower Yoga. When he’s not teaching yoga or speaking you can find Anthony playing with his 2 year old son and newborn daughter, riding his road bike, or trying to find some new way to push the human body and mind beyond its limit that his wife would not approve of.

 

Brian Drummond

Brian is a US Navy Veteran with over 20 years of leadership and coaching experience. While earning his degree in physics, he interned at NASA in Langley, VA and Jefferson Lab in Newport News, VA. After being struck by a drunk driver in 2009, Brian’s world was forever changed. The life he had “planned” was ruined due to the physical injuries; but, from the experience, he ultimately learned to turn his focus from training the brain to expanding the mind. Inspired by his sister, Kimberly Spreen-Glick, Brian began a soulful journey with incredible teachers like Dr Wayne Dyer, Marianne Williamson, Robert Holden, PhD and Louise Hay, to name a few. Brian currently dedicates the majority of his time serving as the CCO (Chief Compassion Officer) of Karma Warriors, a community and lifestyle brand that celebrates kindness and encourages the world to follow the simple philosophy, “Choose Love. Light up the World.”

 

Jules Fultz

Jules Fultz is the Program Director for POP Pilates and an International Master Trainer with decades of teaching experience under her microphone belt. She used her teaching experience to guide her in the role of group fitness manager for a large club chain developing programs and leading a team of fitness professionals in 3 major cities in Texas. With a background in instructor assessment, Jules is dedicated to developing instructors who are passionate about providing safe, fun, and effective classes. Lauren George is the creator of PulsePointe barre an innovative and challenging cardio barre format. After completing her undergraduate and master’s degree in Sport Management, Lauren ran the fitness programs at The Baylor Tom Landry Fitness Center, Florida State University, and ToddPilates. Her true passion has always been mentoring other instructors. Currently, Lauren teaches classes at Clemson Yoga, instructs Leisure Skills courses for Clemson University, and leads PulsePointe barre Instructor Trainings. Her certifications include ACE, AFAA, Balanced Body, and YogaFit.

 

Rob Glick

Rob is the Senior Director of Group Fitness, Yoga and Cycle at Life Time. He was named the 2006 International Presenter of the Year by CanFit Pro and the 2005 Best Male Presenter by ECA. He holds a B.S. in exercise science and continues to bring cutting-edge education, programming and sessions to the fitness industry at conferences all over the world. Meredith Higgins

Meredith Higgins was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Yeehaw! She danced competitively in jazz, tap, ballet, and modern/lyrical solos and company pieces for 14 years with Kitty Carter Dance Factory. She won awards such as Teen Dancer of the Year from New York City Dance Alliance and West Coast Dance Explosion. After graduating Indiana University with a Bachelor's in Voice Performance and Music Education, she spent 3 years abroad teaching music, choreographing musicals, and received her Actor’s Equity Association card. She began teaching BollyX® in New York City through Plus One, quickly became a national trainer and currently is the National Community Manager for BollyX® in the NYC headquarter office!

 

Amy Moreland

Amy is the Creator of Kettlebell AMPD as well as the owner of You Rock Fitness, LLC and a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. She is AFAA, ACE, and NETA certified, a Presenter for SCW and CanfitPro. Amy created Kettlebell AMPD to bring the kettlebell into a group fitness setting adaptable for anyone. She uses Kettlebell AMPD as a program that allows people of all fitness levels to enjoy the benefits of kettlebell training with the energy of heart-pumping music.

 

Tadd Moreland

Tadd is a Master Trainer for Kettlebell AMPD. He is also a Certified Group Fitness Instructor. Along with Amy, Tadd manages You Rock Fitness and instructs a variety of group fitness classes. As a Master Trainer, Tadd leads our training events across the US and Canada. Tadd also works closely with Amy in the development of the custom choreography for the Kettlebell AMPD program. He serves as our website administrator.

 

Aimee Nicotera

Aimee Nicotera has been involved in the health and fitness industry for 20 years, as a group fitness instructor, personal trainer, health educator and fitness director. Aimee holds a BS degree in Nutrition Science and a MS degree in Health Education, as well as numerous fitness certifications, including those through ACSM, ACE, and AFAA. In addition to having served as a Group Fitness Manager for Equinox Fitness Clubs and Fitness Director for Canyon Ranch in Lenox, MA, Aimee is the creator of the two fitness DVD series, Take 20!® and 2X2 Conditioning®.

 

Magen Rathbone

Magen Rathbone has been a fitness professional for 15 years and a Master Trainer with Beachbody LIVE since 2015, specifically for INSANITY, PiYo and Country Heat LIVE. Magen is a former Group Fitness manager in corporate and community fitness clubs in Houston and Austin. Magen’s Group Exercise and Personal Trainer certifications are through AFAA, and she also spent years as a competitive long distance runner. Magen’s first love is group exercise because she gets to build community through sweat!

 

Keli Roberts

Keli Roberts is the recipient of the 2003 IDEA International Fitness Instructor of the Year award, 2003 OBOW ECA award for Best Use of Equipment, 2005 for Best Female Presenter and 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2007 Keli was inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame. As an ACE Master Trainer, SCW Faculty and Continuing Education Provider, Keli known for her acclaimed workshops worldwide. Her award winning DVDs demonstrate her exceptional teaching skills. Keli is ACSM HFS certified and holds certifications through AFAA, ACE Group Fitness, ACE Gold Personal Trainer and Level 1 Precision Nutrition. Additionally Keli is a BOSU Developmental Team Member and a Schwinn Master Trainer.

Tina Strawn is a fitness blogger and podcaster who has been teaching group fitness, yoga and cycle formats, as well as managing group fitness teams for over 10 years. She is the Operations Manager for Empower Fitness events and she is also the Co-Founder of Group Fitness Life, an online community of group fitness professionals and those looking to get into the Group Fitness industry.

 

Ashlie Sustaita

Ashlie has been teaching classes with Life Time Fitness since 2009. Fitness is her passion, profession, & hobby. As an amateur body building competitor Ashlie has been targeting her workouts in a whole new approach for the past year. Leg and Gluteus training is her favorite day & she thought it would be a joy to spread the love and create a full class dedicated to leg and gluteus work for Life Time. Tony Witt

Through these regional weekend events, we, alongside the community and a team of world-renowned fitness presenters, celebrate fitness, continuing education, motivation and the desire for an overall healthy way of life for all.

The events are produced by Global Fitness Solutions, LLC and hosted in partnership with Life Time Fitness, the premier Healthy Way of Life company, in the United States.

Whether you are a fitness professional in need of your CECs or an enthusiast who simply wants to exercise with the best fitness presenters in the world, EMPOWER! is exactly where you need to be!

Q: Who should attend?

Q: Why is Thursday considered a "special event" day?

A: Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23 are considered Pre-Conference event days.  When you register for the EMPOWER! conference weekend, Thursday and the morning/day is not included in the weekend event package (Fri-Sun).  If you are interested in participating in an intensive or certification on Thursday or Friday, you will need to seperately register for each individual class.

Q: How does course selection work?

A: For EMPOWER! upon registration you will be able to select your sessions. We limit the number of registrations to ensure as many attendees as possible receive all their first choice selections at the event and can easily make changes throughout the weekend at will.

Q: When can I check in?

A: You can check in at the event registration desk starting each day at the following times:

Q: What will I receive at check in?


A: You will receive your check-in packet containing a schedule, wristband or ticket, and a goody bag.



Q: What should I bring?


A: Bring a photo i.d., your registration confirmation letter, exercise apparel, a water bottle, and money for lunch and shopping at the expo.



Q: How do I get a receipt?


A:  If you register online, you can print a copy of your receipt at the time of registration. If you mail or fax your registration, you can pick up a copy of your receipt at the event.

 

CECs

Q: What are CECs?


A: CEC stands for Continuing Education Credit (also referred to as CEU or Continuing Education Unit). You receive CECs by attending fitness-related educational workshops. Typically, certification organizations require that instructors earn a certain number of CECs to maintain and renew their certificates. Check with your certifying organization regarding specific requirements.



Q: How many CECs will I get for each class?


A: Each workshop equals .1/1.0 to .2/2.0 CECs from ACE, NASM, AFAA, AEA, AAAI/ISMA and NETA.



Q: How do I get my CECs for attending this event?


A: You can pick up your certificate at the event.
