Pam Benchley is a Master Educator with Stages® Cycling, a national Master Trainer for BOSU®, Hedstrom Fitness and NETA. She is a provider of many workshops including indoor cycling, BOSU, and functional/active aging training. Pam currently serves on the faculty at the State University of New York at Fredonia. She is a member of numerous organizations within the fitness industry such as IHRSA, IDEA and ACSM.

 

Emily Booth

Emily Booth is the National Indoor Cycle Program Manager at Life Time Fitness where she is thrilled to fuse her passion for cycling, group fitness, music, and performance together by providing education, inspiration and support for Indoor Cycling instructors across the country. With a degree in Vocal Performance and Theater, her mission is to make exercise as entertaining as it is effective-putting the "fun" back in "function". As a self-described "Endurance Junkie", when she is not in the studio you can find her on the trails training and racing in ultra distance running events like the Life Time Leadville Trail 100.

 

Jenna Bostic

Jenna Bostic is an international Zumba® Education Specialist for Zumba® Fitness. She has been presenting for Zumba® since 2008 and teaches Zumba® Basic 1, Zumba® Basic 2, Zumba® Step, Zumba® Toning & Aqua Zumba® instructor trainings. Jenna was the featured ZES for the one-on-one choreography on the ZIN #35 DVD and on ZIN TV for both Aqua Zumba® & Zumba® Toning. Jenna has a degree in Exercise & Sport Science and holds ACE, AFAA and AEA certifications in group fitness, personal training and aqua fitness.

 

Kelly Bullard

Kelly is an International fitness educator and a Zumba® Education Specialist (ZES) since 2009. She holds degrees in Exercise and Sports Science (Health and Physical Education) and a Master’s degree in Sport Administration. Her passion, enthusiasm, and experience is for fitness/ dance for people of all ages. Kelly specializes in many of the Zumba Fitness programs and has presented in over 36 countries. She is in several Zumba DVD’s, including being featured in the Aqua Zumba Vol. 6. Kelly holds a variety of certifications in many areas of fitness, and is a continuing education provider for AEA, AAAI/ISMA, AFAA & ACE.

 

Cliff Edberg

Cliff is the Sr. Program Manager of Personal Training at Life Time. As a certified personal trainer, registered dietitian, and competitive physique athlete, Cliff has spent the majority of his life helping trainers and clients in their pursuit of their ideal physique. His methodology combines an intricate understanding of human metabolism, with the science and art of Personal Training and Nutrition Coaching to aid the trainers of Life Time in creating incredible transformations for their clients. Cliff's passion is to help improve the nutrition and fitness industry by continuing to challenge the status quo and elevating the standard of Personal Training.

 

Jessica Feldman

Jessica Feldman (AKA: JJ) is the Studio Boutique Manager at Life Time Athletic Chanhassen where she blends her business background in graphic design and marketing with her passion for all things fitness. Her energetic personality and positive attitude fuels her mission to inspire and motivate as many people as possible to the best versions of themselves. Living a life that focuses on adventure and having fun - she is always open to a new challenge, as long as it can be done with a smile and good music is playing. When not teaching classes or working with her team, you can find her exploring different cultures around the world one photo at a time. Jessica is a Life Time Master Trainer for various formats including Spartan Strong, Life Barre, AMP, BarreSuite, Warrior Sculpt and Barbell Strength.

 

David Freeman

David was named Life Time Fitness Personal Trainer of the Year in 2009, 2010 and 2011, and has been awarded Life Time Fitness Most Valuable Trainer in both 2012 and 2013 when he led his TEAM training programs to #1 in the nation. David is also a TRX Master Level trainer, educating and training proper TRX form and technique to other trainers around the nation. He is a passionate leader and brings an extraordinary talent and energy to Alpha 1 Training.

 

Lauren George

Lauren George is the Co-Creator of the Enhanced Barre Above Program, owner of Clemson Fitness Company, and a Master Trainer for Balletone. She has had a love for movement since a young age and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Texas A&M University and Master’s Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies from University of North Texas. She was named EMPOWER! Fusion Education Partner of the Year in 2018. Lauren has had the pleasure of leading the group fitness programs at The Baylor Tom Landry Fitness Center, Florida State University, and Todd Pilates and Fitness. Most of all, Lauren is passionate about helping participants understand that fitness can be FUN!

 

Rob Glick

Rob is the Senior Director of Large Group Training, Yoga and Cycle programming, and innovation at Life Time. He was named the International Presenter of the Year by CanFit Pro and the Best Male Presenter by ECA. He holds a B.S. in exercise science from Chapman University, has his 200 HR YTT through a few different yoga programs and has had a hand in creating many of the top programs in the industry. He is co-creator of EMPOWER! Live Fitness events, 5 Star Instructor Development program and presents education regularly at many of the industry's top conferences.

 

Nico Gonzalas

Owner of Fitness Physiques, creator of the online space “3 Minutes 2 B”, and stars in multiple fitness and mind/body videos. Nico is a Master Trainer for Balanced Body and BOSU. Certified through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) in personal training and group fitness and the Pilates Method Alliance for Pilates Training. He has been in the industry over 20 years, traveling across the USA and beyond presenting at respected conferences such as IDEA World Convention, IDEA Personal Trainer Summit (USA), Pilates On Tour (USA), SCW Fitness (USA), Can-Fit-Pro (Canada), Fitnesslandia (Italy), World Class Fitness (Russia), and Pilates Chile (South America). Katie Haggerty

Katie Haggerty has become a popular member of the professional fitness industry through her unique brand and delivery. She is well known for her ability to create a balance of innovation, breakdown and functionality through a signature style of fun that creates an experience unlike any other. Katie is the Signature Program Manager and co-creator of Warrior Sculpt and LifeBarre, including developmental workshops, to grow the Life Time Fitness brand. She is a presenter at multiple national fitness conferences, specializing in yoga, dance, step and motivational speaking, and has been awarded the 2014 EMPOWER! Fitness Conference Female Presenter of the Year. Katie holds a BA in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota and is ACE certified.

 

Alex Isaly

Alex has over 20 years of experience as a creator/lead trainer for several national fitness programs, ACE and AFAA certified instructor, endurance athlete, author, international presenter, and nutritionist. His current projects include Life Time Signature Brand Lead for Kettlebell Kombine, Spartan Strong and WTRX. He is also the creator of KettleWorX® DVD workout series. Alex is a member of IDEA’s Advisory Board . He is the recipient of the 2018 EMPOWER Presenter of the Year award. Len Kravitz

Len Kravitz, PhD, CSCS is the program coordinator of exercise science and a researcher at the University of New Mexico where he recently received the Presidential Award of Distinction and the Outstanding Teacher of the Year award. He is a 2016 inductee into the National Fitness Hall of Fame. Dr. Kravitz was awarded the Fitness Educator of the Year by the American Council on Exercise and has received the Canadian Fitness Professional Lifetime Achievement Award.

 

Erica Lewankdowski

Erica Lewandowski is a POUND Icon from Milwaukee WI, who found her passion teaching fitness classes 8 years ago. Erica is a certified ACE and AFAA Group Fitness Instructor, and has been teaching POUND for 3 years. In her free time she loves to travel and enjoys running and cycling.

 

Tricia Murphy-Madden

Tricia Murphy-Madden is the Education Director for Savvier Fitness and a former club owner and fitness director for 15 years. In addition to co-creating Barre Above™, she has developed many highly acclaimed programs including Urban Striptease Aerobics, My Best Friends Workout, and the ABC’s of Exercise.

 

Aimee Nicotera

Aimee Nicotera has been involved in the health and fitness industry for 25 years, as a group fitness instructor, personal trainer, health educator and fitness director. Aimee holds a BS degree in Nutrition Science and a MS degree in Health Education, as well as numerous industry certifications, including those through ACSM, ACE, and AFAA. JR Reis

JR has been a fitness junkie ever since he was five or six years old, when his mom taught Jazzercise with big, poofy 90's hair and hot pink leg warmers. She was an inspiration to JR and he has been teaching indoor cycle classes for more than seven years. For him, it's the energy of the students, music, and members exceeding fitness goals that keeps him coming back for more. He prides himself in his authentic and positive vibes in his classes.

 

Javier Santin

Javier is a highly experienced International Fitness Presenter with over 20 years of experience in Personal Training, Sales, Communication, Group Exercise, Fitness Management and Marketing. He served as a Master Instructor and Educator for renowned international programs including Les Mills and Spinning® throughout Europe and the US before he joined Stages Cycling in 2016 as Stages Cycling University Brand Manager and International Master Educator. Q: What is Empower?

A: EMPOWER! Fitness Events are designed especially for fitness professionals as well as fitness enthusiasts. Through these regional weekend events, we, alongside the community and a team of world-renowned fitness presenters, celebrate fitness, continuing education, motivation and the desire for an overall healthy way of life for all.

The events are produced by Global Fitness Solutions, LLC and hosted in partnership with Life Time Fitness, the premier Healthy Way of Life company, in the United States.

Whether you are a fitness professional in need of your CECs or an enthusiast who simply wants to exercise with the best fitness presenters in the world, EMPOWER! is exactly where you need to be!

Q: Who should attend?

A: Anyone who has an interest in fitness and a healthy way of life!

Q: Why is Thursday considered a "special event" day?

A: Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23 are considered Pre-Conference event days.  When you register for the EMPOWER! conference weekend, Thursday and the morning/day is not included in the weekend event package (Fri-Sun).  If you are interested in participating in an intensive or certification on Thursday or Friday, you will need to seperately register for each individual class.

Q: How does course selection work?

A: For EMPOWER! upon registration you will be able to select your sessions. We limit the number of registrations to ensure as many attendees as possible receive all their first choice selections at the event and can easily make changes throughout the weekend at will.

Q: When can I check in?

A: You can check in at the event registration desk starting each day at the following times:

Q: What will I receive at check in?


A: You will receive your check-in packet containing a schedule, wristband or ticket, and a goody bag.



Q: What should I bring?


A: Bring a photo i.d., your registration confirmation letter, exercise apparel, a water bottle, and money for lunch and shopping at the expo.



Q: How do I get a receipt?


A:  If you register online, you can print a copy of your receipt at the time of registration. If you mail or fax your registration, you can pick up a copy of your receipt at the event.

 

CECs

Q: What are CECs?


A: CEC stands for Continuing Education Credit (also referred to as CEU or Continuing Education Unit). You receive CECs by attending fitness-related educational workshops. Typically, certification organizations require that instructors earn a certain number of CECs to maintain and renew their certificates. Check with your certifying organization regarding specific requirements.



Q: How many CECs will I get for each class?


A: Each workshop equals .1/1.0 to .2/2.0 CECs from ACE, NASM, AFAA, AEA, AAAI/ISMA and NETA.



Q: How do I get my CECs for attending this event?


A: You will get CEC's in an email the weekend of the event.  Please look for it coming from Global Fitness Solutions.  NOTE:   If you do not see it by the end of the day Sunday, please check in your junk mail.
