Abrea has over 15 years of teaching experience in the Fitness industry. Certified through ACE and AFAA, she has served as a Personal Trainer, Metabolic Technician, Group Fitness Manager, and Fitness Presenter / Educator. Jordan Ballard

Constance Contursi Barker(ACE/AFAA) and Kevin Barker, aka DJ KJ® (CSCS, B.S.) are National Presenters for the Hit It!® Kickbox and P.O.W.E.R. brand. Their extensive cardio kickbox and high intensity interval style P.O.W.E.R. trainings leave instructors motivated, educated and inspired to teach at a level unseen by many group fitness participants. Both Constance and Kevin are strong leaders and role models in the fitness industry with a talent for public-speaking and presenting. Gail Barranda Rivas is a Senior Master Trainer and Presenter for Masala Bhangra®. Julie Bellis

Julie has worked in the fitness industry since 1997 as a fitness instructor, physical therapist assistant, personal trainer and has held management positions at fitness facilities in Houston, TX and Scottsdale, AZ. She is a certified Boot Camp, Kettlebell, BOSU and mat Pilates instructor. Julie trained under Billy Blanks and became an advanced Tae Bo instructor in 1999. Anthony Chavez

Anthony would rather talk about you and your dreams and goals than his own, but this is where we get to share a little bit of his story with you. He has consistently found himself in the role of trainer, coach, and most recently as a professional Speaker with Freedom Personal Development. It was with his time at Freedom that Anthony was introduced to Yoga and the transformative and life changing power of the practice of Yoga. He believes Yoga to be the physical embodiment of personal and spiritual growth. His intention while teaching Yoga is crystal clear: To help everyone to live a life of purpose and fulfillment while allowing their own sweet divine light to shine bright. Anthony’s first love was baseball as he played through high school & college and even now to this day. Fabio Comana, M.A., M.S., is a faculty instructor at San Diego State University, and University of California, San Diego and NASM, and president of Genesis Wellness Group. Prior experiences include collegiate head coaching, strength and conditioning; and opening/managing clubs for Club One. Gregg Cook has been an elite NYC Instructor/Trainer at Equinox for the last 14 years. He currently teaches 15 classes a week and is master trainer for Schwinn and Shockwave. Kathryn Coyle

Kathryn Coyle is a Peak Pilates Level® III Senior Master Instructor and MVe® Instructor Trainer, Kathryn has over 15 years of Pilates teaching experience and uses the Pilates system for prehab, rehab and performance enhancement. She has presented internationally and been featured in Pilates Style magazine and DVDs. Ashley Wayne became a born-again Groover after finding herself 70lbs overweight following the birth of her second child. A serious dancer in her youth and 4 time state champion cheerleader, Soul Grooves is where Ashley regained the motivation, support and confidence to make the healthy changes she needed. After cheering in college and on a competitive Adult All Star team for three years, this former manager and coach of an All-Star gym directs her motivation into creating an atmosphere that is so much fun her Groovers will forget they are working out in the first place! With nearly three decades of healthcare experience, Dr. Liz Welch empowers her audience to get moving on their health goals. In addition to being a practicing chiropractor and an expert on postural alignment, she is the founder and CEO of PostureFit, a company that teaches people how to get strong and fit in their best posture. Poor posture is more than just looking bad – it causes pain, arthritis and accelerates the aging process. After treating thousands of patients who suffered from maladies related to poor posture, Dr. Liz knew that she had to shift her focus to the cause of these problems. Kari Woodall

A Fitness entrepreneur in Madison, WI, Kari Woodall incorporates the world-class knowledge and instruction from TRX Training to hone her coaching techniques, class programming, leadership skills, and TRX Boot Camp business model. As a former US National Team Swimmer and Collegiate Swimming Coach, she has trained and competed at the highest levels and coached others to do the same. Having recently completed her Firefighter II Certification, she uses her in-depth knowledge about the power of the body, physical training, and mental toughness to create unique and challenging custom classes and boot camps. Q: Why is Thursday considered a "special event" day?

A: Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23 are considered Pre-Conference event days.  When you register for the EMPOWER! conference weekend, Thursday and the morning/day is not included in the weekend event package (Fri-Sun).  If you are interested in participating in an intensive or certification on Thursday or Friday, you will need to seperately register for each individual class.

Q: How does course selection work?

A: For EMPOWER! upon registration you will be able to select your sessions. We limit the number of registrations to ensure as many attendees as possible receive all their first choice selections at the event and can easily make changes throughout the weekend at will.

Q: When can I check in?

A: You can check in at the event registration desk starting each day at the following times:

Q: What will I receive at check in?


A: You will receive your check-in packet containing a schedule, wristband or ticket, and a goody bag.



Q: What should I bring?


A: Bring a photo i.d., your registration confirmation letter, exercise apparel, a water bottle, and money for lunch and shopping at the expo.



Q: How do I get a receipt?


A:  If you register online, you can print a copy of your receipt at the time of registration. If you mail or fax your registration, you can pick up a copy of your receipt at the event.

 

CECs

Q: What are CECs?


A: CEC stands for Continuing Education Credit (also referred to as CEU or Continuing Education Unit). You receive CECs by attending fitness-related educational workshops. Typically, certification organizations require that instructors earn a certain number of CECs to maintain and renew their certificates. Check with your certifying organization regarding specific requirements.



Q: How many CECs will I get for each class?


A: Each workshop equals .1/1.0 to .2/2.0 CECs from ACE, NASM, AFAA, AEA, AAAI/ISMA and NETA.



Q: How do I get my CECs for attending this event?


A: You can pick up your certificate at the event.
