    Take a deep dive into effective core training principles in this in-depth workshop. First, we take a hands-on approach to truly understanding the anatomy of the core and how it works using the Anatomy in Three Dimensions™ system. Together we’ll build the diaphragm, spinal and abdominal muscles and pelvic floor to gain a better understanding of how they work together to build a strong core and create functional lumbopelvic stability. In the second half of the workshop, you’ll learn progressive core training techniques using the Balanced Body Movement Principles. Combining theory, effective core exercises and practice teaching, you will come away with the all the tools you need to design programs for training clients at any level. This is one module of the 5-part Balanced Body Movement Principles course. Once you have taken all 5 parts, you will receive a certificate as a Balanced Body Movement Specialist.

Presenters

Jenna Bostic

Jenna Bostic is an international Zumba® Education Specialist for Zumba® Fitness. She has been presenting for Zumba® since 2008 and teaches Zumba® Basic 1, Zumba® Basic 2, Zumba® Step, Zumba® Toning & Aqua Zumba® instructor trainings. Jenna was the featured ZES for the one-on-one choreography on the ZIN #35 DVD and on ZIN TV for both Aqua Zumba® & Zumba® Toning. Jenna has a degree in Exercise & Sport Science and holds ACE, AFAA and AEA certifications in group fitness, personal training and aqua fitness.”

 

Kelly Bullard

Kelly is an International fitness educator and a Zumba® Education Specialist (ZES) since 2009. She holds degrees in Exercise and Sports Science (Health and Physical Education) and a Master’s degree in Sport Administration. Her passion, enthusiasm, and experience is for fitness/ dance for people of all ages. Kelly specializes in many of the Zumba Fitness programs and has presented in over 36 countries. She is in several Zumba DVD’s, including being featured in the Aqua Zumba Vol. 6. Kelly holds a variety of certifications in many areas of fitness, and is a continuing education provider for AEA, AAAI/ISMA, AFAA & ACE.

 

Lauren George

Lauren George is the Co-Creator of the Enhanced Barre Above Program, owner of Clemson Fitness Company, and a Master Trainer for Balletone. She has had a love for movement since a young age and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Texas A&M University and Master’s Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies from University of North Texas. She was named EMPOWER! Fusion Education Partner of the Year in 2018. Lauren has had the pleasure of leading the group fitness programs at The Baylor Tom Landry Fitness Center, Florida State University, and Todd Pilates and Fitness. Most of all, Lauren is passionate about helping participants understand that fitness can be FUN!

 

Katie Haggerty

Katie Haggerty has become a popular member of the professional fitness industry through her unique brand and delivery. She is well known for her ability to create a balance of innovation, breakdown and functionality through a signature style of fun that creates an experience unlike any other. Katie is the Signature Program Manager and co-creator of Warrior Sculpt and LifeBarre, including developmental workshops, to grow the Life Time Fitness brand. She is a presenter at multiple national fitness conferences, specializing in yoga, dance, step and motivational speaking, and has been awarded the 2014 EMPOWER! Fitness Conference Female Presenter of the Year. Katie holds a BA in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota and is ACE certified.

 

Tricia Murphy-Madden

Tricia Murphy-Madden is the Education Director for Savvier Fitness and a former club owner and fitness director for 15 years. In addition to co-creating Barre Above™, she has developed many highly acclaimed programs including Urban Striptease Aerobics, My Best Friends Workout, and the ABC’s of Exercise.

 

Danielle O'Reilly

Danielle O’Reilly has a Bachelor’s of Science in Education from Northern Arizona University. Her professional experience includes health, youth fitness, group training, percussion performance, and an extensive background in K-12 physical education. Danielle is passionate about helping others reach their health and fitness goals, cooking, music, and spreading the word about POUND! As a Master Pro, Danielle loves giving the permission to ROCK and spreading the POUND love around the country!

 

Javier Santin

Javier is a highly experienced International Fitness Presenter with over 20 years of experience in Personal Training, Sales, Communication, Group Exercise, Fitness Management and Marketing. He served as a Master Instructor and Educator for renowned international programs including Les Mills and Spinning® throughout Europe and the US before he joined Stages Cycling in 2016 as Stages Cycling University Brand Manager and International Master Educator. Originally from Madrid, Spain, he relocated to New York City in 2014 where he lives with his lovely wife.

 

Laurie Streff

Laurie Streff is a C-IAYT movement educator and teacher trainer passionate about inspiring people to prioritize self-care. Through embodied learning techniques of Yoga Tune Up® and The Roll Model Method® Laurie is especially thrilled to share unique principles for therapeutic mobility, pain-free movement, and enhanced downregulation experiences.

 

Helen Vanderburg

Helen Vanderburg, BPE, Exercise Physiology, is the co-owner of Heavens fitness, yoga and spin studio, Fusion Fitness Training™, author of Fusion Workouts and Commercial Fitness Education Manager for Balanced Body. She has been recognized numerous times as Canada’s Presenter of the Year by CanFitPro and is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for her dedication, leadership and innovation worldwide. She has been awarded the IDEA Program Director, Presenter of the Year and the 2018 Top Industry Contributor. Recognized as a Women of Vision and one of Canada’s most influential people. Through these regional weekend events, we, alongside the community and a team of world-renowned fitness presenters, celebrate fitness, continuing education, motivation and the desire for an overall healthy way of life for all.

The events are produced by Global Fitness Solutions, LLC and hosted in partnership with Life Time Fitness, the premier Healthy Way of Life company, in the United States.

Q: Who should attend?

Q: Why is Thursday considered a "special event" day?

A: Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23 are considered Pre-Conference event days.  When you register for the EMPOWER! conference weekend, Thursday and the morning/day is not included in the weekend event package (Fri-Sun).  If you are interested in participating in an intensive or certification on Thursday or Friday, you will need to seperately register for each individual class.

Q: How does course selection work?

A: For EMPOWER! upon registration you will be able to select your sessions. We limit the number of registrations to ensure as many attendees as possible receive all their first choice selections at the event and can easily make changes throughout the weekend at will.

Q: When can I check in?

A: You can check in at the event registration desk starting each day at the following times:

Q: What will I receive at check in?


A: You will receive your check-in packet containing a schedule, wristband or ticket, and a goody bag.



Q: What should I bring?


A: Bring a photo i.d., your registration confirmation letter, exercise apparel, a water bottle, and money for lunch and shopping at the expo.



Q: How do I get a receipt?


A:  If you register online, you can print a copy of your receipt at the time of registration. If you mail or fax your registration, you can pick up a copy of your receipt at the event.

 

CECs

Q: What are CECs?


A: CEC stands for Continuing Education Credit (also referred to as CEU or Continuing Education Unit). You receive CECs by attending fitness-related educational workshops. Typically, certification organizations require that instructors earn a certain number of CECs to maintain and renew their certificates. Check with your certifying organization regarding specific requirements.



Q: How many CECs will I get for each class?


A: Each workshop equals .1/1.0 to .2/2.0 CECs from ACE, NASM, AFAA, AEA, AAAI/ISMA and NETA.



Q: How do I get my CECs for attending this event?


A: You will get CEC's in an email the weekend of the event.  Please look for it coming from Global Fitness Solutions.  NOTE:   If you do not see it by the end of the day Sunday, please check in your junk mail.
